At the invitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the Human Resources Management Foundation, represented by its Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Munir Abbas, was honored to participate in the interactive workshop “Discussing and Developing the Law on Non-Governmental Organizations in the Syrian Arab Republic,” Law No. 93 of 1958, held on April 9 and 11, 2026. The workshop, attended by a team from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, including the Deputy Minister for Civil Society Affairs, the Directorate of Civil Society Organizations, ministry staff, civil society experts, heads of civil society associations, institutions, and federations, and members of associations, discussed key Arab, regional, and international experiences regarding NGO laws. The workshop also addressed updating the law in terms of establishment, registration, governance requirements, optimal affiliated entities, and other important points. The workshop ran from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and was scheduled to continue on Saturday to develop proposals for further developing the law in line with the latest NGO legislation.
