The Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) hosted an event to announce the 2027 Essential Skills for Entering the Job Market, alongside a ceremony honoring Job Gate 5 volunteers. The event took place on October 7 in an authentic Damascene atmosphere at Bayt Jawish in Old Damascus.
The event brought together company directors, HR managers, university professors, representatives from Syrian universities, and around 40 IHRM volunteers, both men and women, in recognition of their efforts and valuable contributions to the success of the Job Gate 5 Career Fair.
During the event, IHRM announced 22 essential skills required to enter both the Syrian and international job markets. These skills were identified based on the insights and needs of 65 leading Syrian companies across various sectors and industries, as part of the outcomes of the Job Gate 5 Career Fair, held in September 2026.
The event also featured a recognition ceremony honoring young volunteers for their dedication and efforts in organizing and contributing to the success of the fair, reflecting the importance of youth involvement in supporting and developing the labor market.
The celebration included a coffee break marking the farewell to summer, with an authentic Damascene touch that brought the atmosphere and rich heritage of the city to life at Bayt Jawish.
IHRM reaffirms that building young people’s capabilities and supporting their professional journeys are among its key priorities in contributing to a more efficient labor market. This commitment begins with university students, volunteers, and trainees, and extends to employees and managers.
Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to all the sponsors and partners who joined us on this occasion and contributed their support and gifts: Bee Order, Indomie, B2B, Makki, Hussein Al Nasser, and Lamario.
