During the fifth edition of the Job Gate Employment Fair, Dr. Raghdaa Zaidan, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, delivered a lecture titled:
“Labor Market in Syria: Challenges & Opportunities” ⚡
During the lecture, Dr. Raghdaa discussed the current state of the Syrian labor market and the key challenges it faces, alongside the opportunities and emerging areas that can be built upon amid current changes.
The lecture covered several topics related to unemployment, the skills gap, changing labor market needs, digital transformation, and the importance of developing competencies in line with companies’ requirements and available career opportunities.
Dr. Raghdaa also explored opportunities in entrepreneurship, small businesses, vocational training, and remote work, highlighting their role in supporting young people and strengthening their participation in the labor market.
The lecture also addressed the role of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in supporting the workforce through employment programs and initiatives aimed at empowering young people and various groups, while enhancing their readiness to enter the labor market with skills that meet its requirements.
The lecture witnessed active engagement from attendees and discussions about the current state of the labor market, the challenges facing job seekers, and possible ways to transform these challenges into opportunities for growth and development.
